Lane Kiffin: “Tua was leaving”
Nick Saban did something many coaches wouldn’t do during Monday’s National Championship Game.
He replaced his starting quarterback Jalen Hurts, who had gone 25-2 during his two seasons as a starter, with true freshman Tua Tagovailoa.
All Tagovailoa did was lead the Crimson Tide to their 5th National Championship in the last 9 years, throwing the game winning 41-yard touchdown pass in overtime.
Former Alabama assistant (and outspoken critic of Nick Saban) Lane Kiffin was on the Dan Patrick Show Tuesday, and said Tagovailoa was going to trasfer from Alabama before getting in the game.
Tagovailoa and Hurts, just a true sophomore, both have interesting decisions to make before spring practice begins.
