The Baker Mayfield era in Cleveland is about to officially kickoff.
The Browns have named Mayfield the starting quarterback, making his first career start against the Raiders in Oakland on Sunday.
Jackson made the move to replace former starter Tyrod Taylor with Mayfield after the number one overall pick led the Browns to a 21-17 comeback win over the New York Jets on Thursday night, the clubs first victory since the 2016 season.
Mayfield replaced Taylor, who left the game against the Jets with a concussion, and went 17-23 for 201 yards in just over a half.
Coverage of Mayfield’s first start will begin at Noon on Lima’s Sports Radio 93.1 The Fan.
