Fort Loramie grad and former Texas Ranger Jared Hoying has spent the past two seasons playing for the Hanwha Eagles in the Korean Baseball Organization.
He recently fell victim to one of the unluckiest bounces in baseball history.
Hoying hit a pop-up to shallow left field, and Lotte Giants shortstop Shin Bon-gi retreated to make the relatively routine play. Unfortunately for Bon-gi, the ball bounced off his head. Embarrassing. Luckily for Bon-gi, Jeon Jun-woo was in the right place at the right time for the untraditional 6-7 putout.
Hoying’s reaction is priceless.
Talk about a heads up play.
