Guardians Erupt For 17 Runs In Win Over Royals

The Cleveland Guardians scored ten times in the first two innings en route to a 17-3 shellacking of the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium.  Oscar Mercado crushed a grand slam in the first and finished the game with five RBI.  Jose Ramirez had a home run and three RBI, while Steven Kwan racked up five hits.  Cal Quantrill earned the win after pitching five innings and giving up just two runs.  The victory is Cleveland’s first of the season.  Aaron Civale takes the mound for the Guardians when they face the Royals again today.
